Erin was contently asleep, dreaming about something that she was never going to remember. A loud whine in her ear woke her, and a sloppy, wet lick to her cheek made her sit up. "Ugh," She groaned, glancing at the clock. "What JB?" She asked with a yawn.
The very large dog walked in circles for a moment before whining at her again. Erin sighed, understanding the animal. She grabs her jacket, slips it on, and puts Jaybird's leash on him before heading out of the apartment, letting Jaybird do his business in the early morning.
She sighed and thanked the dog with breakfast. She was sure she wouldn't have awaken in time to get to work on time. By the tiem Jaybird finished, it was tiem to head out the door. Erin stumbles out of her home, still now fully awake.

Boo sipped the piping hot tea slowly, savoring the taste. She sighed, realizing that she had to go to the book store today. Which, in retrospect, wasn't that bad.
She loved working at the book store. Sure, she had to deal with masses of idiots, looking for books that where right in front of them. But she didn't mind. She could spend hours, upon hours reading. She did, on slow days.
She quickly got dressed in her comfy jeans, and hoodie with Gir, from Invader Zim, plastered on it. Sure, it was a bit childish, but she loved it all the same. She ran a brush through her hair, grabbed her keys and phone, and ran out the door.

After lying awake for several hours, David swings his legs out of his bed and makes for the bathroom. On the way, he retrieves a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a swiss army knife, then shuts and locks the door.
Twenty minutes later, the young man emerges from the shower, wet and slightly overheated, a gauze bandage wrapped around his left forearm. He shoves his feet into steel-toed combat boots, slips his pleather jacket over his thin shoulders, and leaves his apartment for the bookstore.

Erin yawns in the early morning, blinking her hazel eyes open fully. Jaybird is basically leading the way. As usual, the large dog scouts ahead, sniffing around. He spots a young man exiting an apartment building and, being the dog he was, barks in a friendly way towards him.
"Jaybird!" Erin scolds him, "You know better... Sorry!" She told the young man, tugging her dog back to her side as they catch up to him, unintentionally.

David blinks, surprised, and shoves his hands into his pocket. "So long as he doesn't bite," he mutters, not turning his dark blue eyes to the dog or the human. He can remember a time when he loved dogs, can even remember begging his parents for one, but ever since that day... he's disliked all animals and most people.

"Bite? No, no, not Jaybird. Unless, of course, you try to kill me." Erin told him before clearing her throat and remaining respectfully quiet, finding that their steps clicked on the sidewalk in unison. She was pretty sure he wouldn't exactly like that so she skipped a step and fell behind, making Jaybird stay at her side.
The dog whined before trotting ahead and walking next to the young man, as if begging for a pet. "JB, come on, leave him alone." Erin said, tugging on his leash, but the large dog wouldn't budge. Erin had trained him well, he listened to her, but when he made up his mind Erin could do nothing about it. He was a very large dog, one of the largest next to the Saint Bernard, and there was no way Erin could overpower him.
Erin sighed and patted her hip, making small kissing noises. "Come on, baby." She cooed, but the dog still walked along side the young male, staring up at his face. 'What is up with my dog?' Erin thought to herself.

David ignored the dog, but walked a little faster. He made his expression remain stoic, but inside he was nervous and frustrated. Why wouldn't the dog walk with his master? He chanced a sidelong look at the thing, his eyes widening a little. "Stop looking at me like that," he murmured. "I'm not going to pet you. Stop begging." Those eyes...

She reached the bookstore at 10. Anthony had luckily opened up. She opened the door, and the musty smell of books and coffee drifted past her nose. She inhaled deeply, and smiled. "Hey, I'm here." she announched to Anthony. "Good. Now, we've got some new novels in back to unload." he called back. "Why can't the stock boy do it?" she whined. "He doesn't work today." he snapped. She sighed, and went to the back to the few boxes of new romance novels.

Jaybird gave a whine at him, trying to tell him he wasn't begging, he just thought he'd like the company. "Jaybird," Erin tried. Finally, Jaybird looked back at Erin. He grunted at her, and kept his pace with the young man. Erin sighed, trying despritly to understand her dog as she stay behind, attempting not to bug the hell out of this stranger that Jaybird had obviously taken a liking to. But, why? Erin was sure he didn't have a treat or anything in his pocket, otherwise Jaybird would be sniffing at his pocket, or whatever else that was attracting him.
Perhaps the gentleman caught his attention for some reason. Jaybird wasn't a stupid dog, he could sence things, he knew things, all animals did. If Erin was upset with someone, Jaybird would instantly know who was causing his owner discomfort, it just came natural. Erin could spot the Cafe she owned just up ahead. Jaybird loved the place as much as Erin did, it was his second home. Surely the dog would stop bugging the young man to go into the Cafe. Erin was certain.

She went pass the sections upon sections of books, until she reached a forbidden looking door. She opened it, and a cold blast of air wipped past her. She shuddered, and treked further. There were about 6 boxes sitting toward the back, and she went to them. She looked around, and found a small pocket knife, and cut the tape on the first box. In it lay a smaltzy cover of the new romance. She sighed, and managed to load 2 boxes into her arms. She kicked the door open carelessly, but fearing she wouldn't hit a costumer. She then trudged to the romance section, and plopped the boxes down. There was a small table set for the new releases, and it was currently empty; waiting for the next piece of fine( or in some cases crappy) liturature.
