I'd just like to lay down a few basic rules that is posted on each, and every single RPing board.
1.) The first rule: No chatspeak, netspeak, or leet, whatever you wanna call it. I, personally, hate this form of spelling. I mean, come on, people... The Shift button was not invented to collect dust! Convince me you attend a school! Leave your illiteracy to the instant messengers.
2.) One liners.... No. None of that. I hate one-liners. So boring and uncreative. Paragraphs, those I like to see. It shows that the writer actually put forth effort. I'd like all posts to be at least five lines, maybe four. You will be warned if I catch anyone making more than just a few one-liners.
2 1/2.) The Bad: Katie walked into the bar. She looked around the room before walking up to the counter. She sat down next to someone. "I'll take the usual." She said to the bartender. He smiled and passed her the glass of her usual and she smiled back, drinking it down in one gulp.
Sure, the grammar is good, it's not a one-liner, but there isn't any detail!
The Good: Katie tosses her hair over her shoulder with a heavy sigh as her hazel eyes closed, her high heels clicking against the cement of the sidewalk that was cracked and uneven. Her eyelid opened to look up at a sign that read, 'The Blue Bar'. She really needed something to clear her troubles away, so she decided to pay a visit. When she entered, she shot a lustful look around the room before striding on in, her curvy hips swaying. Her path lead her up to the counter where she seated herself on a revolving chair next to a scruffy looking drunk character. "What'll it be tonight, Angel?" The bartender asked, his washcloth shoved into the glass he was cleaning out. Katie smirked at him mysteriously before saying, "Surprise me."
3 .) Sign-up Sheets are NOT required, but I know that most people prefer to use them. This would be a normal sheet:
Name:
Age:
Gender:
Personality:
Appearance:
But, depending on your RP, you could add a few, such as:
Weapon:
History:
Other:
3 1/3.) The meaning of each of these would be:
Name: The name of your character
Age: The age of your character
Gender: The sex of your character
Personality: How your character acts around others or by it's self
Appearance: The physical look of your character
-----------------
Weapon: The kind of weapon your character has
History: What happened to your character in the past
Other: Self explanatory
3 2/3.) The Bad:
Name: Katie
Age: 28
Gender: F
Personality: Changing.
Appearance: ((Coming Soon))
History: You'll find out.
Other: N/A
The Good:
Name: Erin Moonnite
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Personality: Erin is a very odd girl, for she can be shy at times, but only to certain people. She often stays alone in her room, but enjoys the outdoors. Erin is a very fun-loving person who loves to smile and laugh. Although, she can be very cold and untrusting. She is spunky and loves her life. She can be very stubborn and is fiercely loyal, always willing to stand up for a friend.
Appearance: Long, dark brown hair cascades down past her shoulders and reaches about the middle of her back. It is very thick and hard to brush and is never perfect. She is on the chubby side, but she can be athletic. She is not very tall, but her feet in a 10 1/2 womens says differently for her future. She wears sleek, blue rimmed glasses that lay over her hazel eyes. She can be tough, and sturdy, only using her hidden strength when needed.
History: Born in Buffalo, New York, she grew up with her mother and grandmother. Her father had been sent to prison for the first seven years of her life until she moved to Ohio to live with her father, mother, and five other brothers. The sixth brother came soon after her parents reunited. Her parents are planning on moving back to New York State to live out the rest of their lives on a farm in a very remote area.
Other: She loves animals and currently has twelve: Four dogs, four cats, three birds, and one turtle.
4.) Don't forget, use (()) or OOC: to tell when you are speaking out of topic from the RP.
5.) One more thing, there will be no smilies in the RP Boards, none, not even in OOC speak. If I find you with a smilie in your post, I'll simply delete it, but if the problem persists, I will warn you and so on.
