Every Story Has A Beginning...
Gather round good people, listen to my tale. It is one of mystery and intrigue.
Back in the day of knight and lord, tales of demon, werewolf and vampire ran rampant across the land. They ruled with terror unchecked and unopposed. That was until mages of King Arther's court were sent across their lord's land, slaying the creatures of fear and nightmare.
However, in one last treacherous act by Lancelot, he captured a number of these creatures and sent them to a far away land. He had built a stronghold of magical proportions to hold these creatures until he was ready to overthrow King Arthur. However, Lancelot's plan was never carried through, his death too soon.
This far away land was slowly settled, becoming known over the years as, "America." Never hearing from their lord, the mages loyal to Lancelot continued to uphold the portal, their hope that he would one day return to them. They continued to conceal the stronghold as a normal house until the early 1900's. Now a landmark in a large city, it sits, no one enters, no one comes out.
At least, until a group of mortals thought it a good place for a party. A small group set out to inspect the residence...
The Masquerade Begins...
Little did they know what was held inside the seemingly normal house. Upon entrance, the door locked and was impossible to open. The only thing in the entry way, a sundial and a candle, told that the door would unlock in one full day. Making the choice to continue down the hall, bloody runes painted themselves on the walls and the hall stretched for what felt like forever. However, when the group finally reached path's end, they found themselves in a lavish castle, one from fairy tales. Perhaps, they thought, this would work out.
Something far more sinister lay inside, though. The creatures Lancelot had stored there were still very much alive. They were bound by blood to the castle, the entry hall had been painted with it, the runes holding them inside. The only thing able to wash it away, the long dead Lancelot's blood.
The creatures reacted differently to the imprisonment. Some accepted it, others didn't. Some became friends, others enemies. Some managed to hold sanity, others not.
The mortal intrusion did not go unnoticed by the creatures. Perhaps they are looking for a decent meal and not what lays in the castle's many kitchens, monotony of the same food everyday getting to them. Maybe they wish for a companion, someone to share time and knowledge with, someone to pity them. Yet others may want to make the mortals slaves, ready to work them in anyway seen fit. Maybe even something else.
If the humans survive, they may leave freely in twenty-four hours, if it is wished. Easier said than done...
Rules
1. Good gravy, do not cyber. That is a no-no. I do not want my name or roleplays tied to that. Romance and intimacy are encouraged, just leave all the sexual intercourse out of my thread.
2. No god modding. This one is obvious, just roleplay well, okay?
3. No power playing. Don't control another player's character.
4. Realistic romance, please. No looking at another person and falling in love in one post. I hate that ._.
5. Literate. Be literate. I don't expect novel like posts, but basic grammar and spelling would be loved. Consistency is hard and I understand occasional mistakes. I make them too, just try to not make a habit of it. Make it easier on fellow roleplayers, please!
6. Commit. I know it is hard sometimes to keep up with roleplays. I understand if something outside your control happens, you will always be welcomed back. However, if you leave for too long without contact, I will replace you. If you want out of this roleplay, let us know so we can replace you.
7. No one liners. Please? *Puppy dog eyes* <-None of that in the roleplay.
8. Resize your photos to either "640x480" or "320x240." Photobucket will do this for you.
9. Wait for other roleplayers. My posts tend to be long. For those who roleplay like me, give us a few minutes to react.
Character Sheets
I've left personality and history out. A good roleplayer tells that through story. Prove my faith in you well placed. Also, mortals and castle dwellers may be either male or female. Try to keep the genders even, we may have to resort to yaoi or yuri otherwise.
